Objectives of Position: The Executive Director (ED) has the full responsibility to launch/initiate/birth/implement the operations of Neighbourlink Quinte , developing it into a thriving ministry that accomplishes the vision and mission. This is a permanent position with hours set at 20 hrs a week.
Vision and Mission of NLQ;
Reports to: Board of Directors
Supervises: All paid staff, volunteers, and all interactions between NLQ and our Quinte community, specifically clients and churches.
Qualifications: Applicant should:
- Staff/volunteer should be a role model in attitude, speech, and actions in their consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ. They must agree and align with the BCM Statement of Faith and Marriage and Sexuality.
- Support and uphold the policies and procedures of the Neighbourlink Quinte (NLQ).
- Be self-motivated, able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
- Be able to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for NLQ
- Be able to provide spiritual leadership, discipleship, encouragement and direction for staff and volunteers
- Exhibit strong interpersonal communication, public speaking/writing skills and effective media relations
- Have minimum two years experience as a volunteer or employee in ministry
- Have minimum two years in an administrative position with direct experience in supervising paid staff in an efficient and professional office
- Have two years experience in marketing, fundraising and public relations/development
- Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in a related field, or related experience equivalent
Scope of Work
(these responsibilities are yours, but you will be assisted by the directors and the volunteers on the Launch Team)
Programs
- Develop a program that enables NLQ to identify needs within the Quinte area.
- Develop a program that enables NLQ to identify resources within the churches in the Quinte area.
- Develop a program that enables NLQ to bring the identified resources to bear on the needs.
Administration:
- Organize prayer teams to meet regularly
- Coordinate with board of directors and the treasurer, on annual budget and present to the board of directors for approval
- Oversee and ensure that accurate and current financial records are kept and reported to the board monthly
- Oversee expenditures for budgeted expenses of NLQ and oversee purchase requests
- Oversee website and social media sites
- Oversee management of a donor management program
- Maintain policies and procedures manual for the operation of the NL
- Develop a staffing plan required to implement the programs and job descriptions that align.
- Provide in house training for staff volunteers.
- Develop a church volunteer plan required to implement the resource program .
- Provide in church training for program volunteers.
- Attend relatable and growth encouraging conferences yearly.
- Provide managerial support, direction and supervision to all staff and volunteers
- Conduct yearly written and oral evaluations of personnel
- With the assistance of the Office Administrator, ensure that church volunteers are screened according to church and NLQ screening policies
- Ensure that follow-up takes place and that appropriate information is fed back to the church reps and supporting network
- Attend and lead committee meetings monthly
- Oversee the compilation of statistical reports, accurate record keeping and reporting to the board monthly
- Coordinate a yearly calendar for the ministry and implementation of special events
- Ensure that all NQ policies are carried out and adhered to by all staff and volunteers.
- Facilitate and lead consistent meetings with staff and volunteers addressing programs, progress, problems, goal setting and implementation.
- Maintain policies and procedures manual for the operation of the NL.
- Oversee management of a donor management program
- Meet with the Board of Directors on a monthly basis as a means of supervision and encouragement.
- Initiate and coordinate the Annual General Meeting in consultation with board members.
Development:
- Plan, conduct and work with a committee to execute major fundraising events, direct mail pieces and newsletters each year
- Develop and execute a program to appeal to church mission boards for financial support
- Communicate with donors monthly
- Develop ongoing pledge program for individuals
- Be involved in expansion and visibility of NLQ in the community
- Obtain feedback and continually assess goals for establishment of effective programs
- Produce long and short-term objectives to accomplish the ministry goals of NLQ
- Develop a yearly development plan
Client Care:
- Provide support and services for clients when appropriate.
Public Relations:
- Educate the local community, including churches, pastors, community groups and the professional community about NLQ with the goal of obtaining support and involvement in the ministry
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with pastors and churches in the community
- Develop and maintain relationships with other ministries/organizations that meet client needs
- Represent NLQ and services of NLQ to the community and the media
- Develop, oversee and revise promotional materials used in presenting NLQ to clients, community, and churches
- Work closely with the board of directors to promote public awareness of NLQ through advertisement and church presentations
The executive director will be evaluated on a yearly basis by the board of directors in both written and oral form.
