Our History

NeighbourLink Quinte began as a dream in the hearts of members of the Belleville Christian Ministries (BCM) network. This small group of visionaries longed for a ministry that would engage Christians across denominational lines in obeying Jesus’ command to “love your neighbour as yourself.” After learning of a ministry called NeighbourLink operating in various communities across Canada, they recognized that this ministry would be the perfect vehicle to realize their hopes.

The dream remained a dream for many years. Then, following the Covid pandemic, a renewed sense of unity emerged among the members of the BCM, with a renewed desire to confront the needs they saw in the Quinte region. The idea of starting a local expression of Neighbourlink was once again brought before the BCM, and the group as a whole rallied to support it. The dream was not quite a reality yet, but it had been given wings.

In 2022, the NeighbourLink Quinte launch team was formed. Two years later, in 2024, the ministry received charitable status, and that same year, the ministry’s board was appointed.
